Absolute Beginners: About THE GAP (Ira Glass)

Whenever anyone starts anything creative, at some point, their progress will plateau, or as US personality Ira Glass puts it: "the first couple of years when your making stuff- what your making isn't so good". This is what he call's the "GAP". This happens to everyone.
Okay, now think of someone- anyone well known in any creative area or anyone who is thought of as an expert... it is very probable that that person has had a gap or a plateau. So if you're just starting to get into this grey area of progress, just look around and think "wait a minute, this is normal, this is progress" and I guarantee that you'll feel as though you can do whatever is thrown at you.
I've put the video by Ira Glass below, I very highly recommend you look at it, no matter what your level of expertise is, or even if you haven't started anything creative... yet.
